ESMA urges finalisation of T+1 settlement readiness

ESMA has flagged 2026 as the critical preparation year for the EU move to T+1. Firms must align post-trade processes, funding, FX and CSD workflows to avoid settlement fails, penalties and liquidity strain once the shortened cycle takes effect in October 2027.
